Major Scales for Trumpet
The major scale is one of the most widely used musical scales, especially in Western music. It is one of the cornerstones on which much of the harmony and melody in European classical music, jazz, country, pop, and rock and roll is built.
The major scale is the best-known and most popular scale among musicians. In fact, it is the one behind the familiar Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do, which is the C major scale.
How is a major scale built?
A major scale is very easy to build. It is formed by following a pattern of intervals: «whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step». Below you'll find an attached PDF so you can start practicing all the major scales on your trumpet. Each one comes with its corresponding fingering and covers nearly the entire range of the instrument.
