    How to use the metronome to practice

    The metronome is the single most important tool for building a solid tempo. Start at a comfortable speed where you can play the passage without mistakes, even a slow one. Set the time signature to match the piece (4/4, 3/4, 6/8…) so the accent lands on beat one, and turn on subdivisions (eighths or sixteenths) when you need more precision in fast passages. Once you master a speed, use the speed trainer to raise the tempo little by little automatically. Tap tempo lets you find a song\'s speed just by following its pulse. Practicing a few minutes a day with a metronome improves your rhythm, your reading and your steadiness in a group.

    What BPM range can I use?

    You can set the tempo from 30 up to 300 BPM with the slider, the + and − buttons or by typing the number. You will also see the musical term (Adagio, Andante, Allegro, Presto…) for each speed.

    Can I choose the time signature (2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8)?

    Yes. Choose between 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8, 7/8 and more. The metronome accents the first beat with a higher click and shows on-screen dots that light up on every pulse so you can follow the meter visually.

    What are subdivisions?

    They are the intermediate pulses within each beat: eighth notes, triplets or sixteenths. Turning them on helps you play fast passages accurately and internalize the inner rhythm of each beat.

    How does tap tempo work?

    Tap the "Tap" button in time with the music a few times and the metronome will automatically work out the BPM. It is the fastest way to find a song's tempo by ear.

    What is the speed trainer?

    A mode that raises the tempo automatically every set number of bars. Perfect to master a hard passage: start slow and ramp up the speed gradually without even noticing.
