The Sagreras Guitar Course: From Intermediate to Advanced
Let's give you a bird's-eye view of everything you'll find in Books 4, 5 and 6 of the Sagreras guitar course. That way, you'll have a clear picture before you dive into your studies.
Book 4
The goal of this book is to explore short compositions in major keys that call for the development of several compositional and performance techniques.
Among the compositional forms you'll get to experiment with are scales and the characteristic bass accompaniment of the chaconnes developed by the Baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach.
To capture even more of the Baroque flavor, the budding guitar master can experiment with double-stop scales, creating brief recitals where bass lines converse with two other simultaneous voices.
Rhythmic nuances are also of particular interest in Book Four, where you'll encounter markings such as Larghetto con melancolia that call for intentionally sustained notes played with a soft touch, letting listeners hear the shower of harmonics pouring from the guitar strings.
Speed can't be left out for the composer of "El Colibri," which is why the Allegro pieces start to arrive. The grace of the contemporary guitarist found in Andante maestoso is also essential, required study.

Book 5
This book digs deeper into multi-voice forms with studies that emulate the chaconnes, but soon it begins to tackle aspects that echo the monologues of the partitas.
Starting with Lesson Two, the near-master will realize they've gained more fluency in moving the bass lines and in their conversations with the scales.
Another form that also comes into play is the pavane, which brings a graceful rhythm with a distinctive chamber-music feel. By the time they finish Book 5 of the Sagreras guitar course, the near-master will have a solid foundation.

Book 6
In Book Six of the Sagreras guitar course, the now-master will have the chance to try pieces of compositions that aim to emulate the style and form of great guitar masters such as Jorge Gomez Crespo, Adolfo V. Luna and more.
Each composition has such a distinctive harmonic shape that the now-master will recognize just how much work they've accomplished, while also sensing the whole sonic universe and all the nuances they have yet to discover.
In this way, Book Six of the Sagreras guitar course is meant to show the newly minted master of contemporary guitar that, yes, they've reached a strong level, but there's still plenty left to learn.
With Book Six, the journey ends for the new master, yet it's only the beginning of becoming a new guitar legend.

Are you ready to set out on this path? Often you'll travel it alone, but thanks to Sagreras you'll never lack company, because there are still so many great guitar masters left to study.
