What a typical chart contains
- Trumpets and trombones — the moña and mambo sections written out in full, which is the part most groups struggle to transcribe.
- Piano — the montaño pattern notated rather than left to chord symbols.
- Bass — the tímbao line, including the anticipated bass notes that define the feel.
- Percussion — timbales, congas and bongo cues where the arrangement calls for them.
- Voice — lead melody plus the coro responses in the montuno.

Salsa dura, romantic salsa and timba
The catalogue spans the hard New York sound of the Fania era, the softer salsa romántica of the late eighties onward, Colombian salsa from Cali, and Cuban-influenced timba. Use the search box at the top of this page to pull up a specific title, or filter by instrument if you only need charts that include a particular part.
Getting the files
Every arrangement is a PDF. A free account includes three downloads a day and Premium removes the limit. The metronome and virtual piano are free to use without an account if you want to check a tempo or a montaño voicing first.
